Dr. Dawn Amor
Dr. Amor's Bio
Dr. Dawn Amor is in her 25th year of enjoying veterinary medicine and surgery. She graduated in 1996 from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and did her last clinical year at Oklahoma State University. She went on to work as an associate veterinarian in Newport News, VA for a few years until she started her own company, doing veterinary relief work (filling in for other veterinarians when they were gone from their practice) in the entire Hampton Roads area. Then in 2003, Dr. Amor purchased Woodland Veterinary Hospital, and she is in her 18th year of practicing there. She is happily married to David Amor, Woodland’s practice manager, and they have two children—Noah, a sophomore in high school, and Christian, a freshman in college. In addition, they have their furry family, Daisy (Golden Retriever), Snoopy and Ali (Jack Russells), and Rascal (Chiweenie). They also have two cats at home (Sun and Fluffers).
David has been our practice manager for over 10 years now. He loves seeing the cute pets and enjoys spending time with the dogs in the “Bark Park,” where the dogs go outside to have supervised playtime. When not working, David enjoys playing tennis and softball. He and Dr. Amor have two boys, two cats, and four dogs. He is also fluent in Spanish.
Margret is a dedicated veterinary assistant at Woodland. She has been at Woodland for over six years now. It truly is “my passion to help all animals.” After pursuing other careers, she followed her heart back to animal health care and can’t see herself doing anything else.
Hello. My name is Pete Herrera. I grew up in Leoti, a small town on the plains of Kansas. I worked for over 30 years in the livestock industry. During those years, I primarily worked with porcine (hogs) in all phases, from AI to finishing. I’ve worked with cattle and horses also. I’ve been at Woodland Veterinary Hospital for over six years working with dogs and cats. My wife and I have four dogs that are our world.
Taylor has been at Woodland now for one year but is not new to this field. She has worked in this industry for most of her adult life. Taylor is a veterinary assistant and receptionist at Woodland. She is also a breeder of Akitas.
I grew up around animals and knew I wanted I career involving/helping them ever since I was little. I have been an vet assistant for about 3 years and recently joined the Woodland team. I currently only have one dog but I am looking to get more pets eventually. I have an associate degree in biology and I am studying at Penn Foster to become a licensed veterinary technician. I will be earning my degree later this year.
